We are a creative generation, we are a food-obsessed generation, we are a social media-driven/“do it for the gram” generation – it was only a matter of time before the Museum of Ice Cream was born. (Dare we say it was inevitable?) But, hey, no judgements here! If it’s good enough for Beyonce, it’s good enough for us.
The Museum of Ice Cream is an adorable and super fun culinary experience, celebrating (you guessed it) America’s favorite frozen treat. With larger than life toppings in rainbow colors (giant gummy bears!), swings made of ice cream sandwiches, and the famous pool of rainbow sprinkles, it’s an Instagrammer’s paradise, and it’s perfect for kids (and kids at heart). Yep, it will make all your Willy Wonka chocolate factory dreams come true, while simultaneously giving you great content for your food Instagram (#museumoficecream).
The Insta-famous museum started in New York, and was so popular that they decided to bring it to LA. (And we’re so happy they did!) Who knows where this traveling museum will go next! Tickets are about $30 a person ($20 under 18), and they sell out every time a new batch is released. It’s no wonder why they sell out each time… in addition to all the fun photo opps, your ticket comes with multiple ice cream tastings! *drool*
This is not the first time that something has been designed with it’s Instagramability in mind – many restaurants now think and plan their interior in terms of photographable aesthetics. But, it will definitely be interesting to see how this trend continues. Has Instagram led to increased creativity? Has social media enhanced or hindered the way we visit museums and restaurants? Or maybe it’s a little of both? Even fine dining chefs are embracing the power of Instagram!
